Hi

I am in the process of completing my forms for the initial FSW application to NS. One of the questions (no 6) in SCHEDULE 3 the  states that

Have you taken an approved test to access your proficiency in English or French?
Yes -> Provide a copy of approved test result
No  -> Provide evidence of your proficiency in Canadian's official languages.

I havent taken my IELTS yet and am planning on waiting till i get the 120 day letter. I dont want to spend the money and find out that I haven't been accepted. The thing is I would require 16 points in language for my application to get above 67 points. So can i select no and then send the application in without any supporting documents even through I am borderline points wise. I should be able to ace the IELTS considering I have done all my studies exclusively in english and have studied in CANADA for my undergrad.

Dear,

Mine was the same case. Think if you do not get 16 points then instead of money you are also going to loose time.

Better you go for IELTS test prior to submission of application, as you are in border line to get 67 points. Think if you did not achieve 16 poiints then? It's defficult to achieve all top level score.

All the best

Thanks for the repose S.K .

After some research on this forum i think mostly everyone sends their IELTS afterwords and OP6 does state that the CIC office is just there to figure out if you fall under the 38 applications. However I also read somewhere that the specific question i.e. no 6 was just made a requirement in June or July . I might be wrong here but anyone hear of anyone getting rejected specifically because they didn't have enough points at this stage or because they didn't send a letter explaining their proficiency in English.

Thing is I am planning to apply under 1111. I have done most of the items under the NOC but I am not in any of the job titles and I want to make sure that I qualify before I plan to appear for the exam

My experience.
I did not take IELTS when I sent application to NS. I had marked "NO" to IELTS exam. I wrote a detailed letter explaining why.
Since I did not belong to a ENGLISH speaking country, After sending application to NS, I took my IELTS exam.

I did get my AOR from Ns for further processing, This time while I sent the docs to Buffalo, I modified the form and said YES and sent the IELTS results.
