Dear psingh.

To claim full 16 points.

You have to get 7.5 band in List.  AND 6.5 band in each : Speaking+Writing+ Reading.

Mayank

Validity of IELTS is 2 years, but when u submit ur application with IELTS result that time ur ielts result need to be valid for at least 1 year.

for example. if ur exam date was march 2009, you must sent this result by feb 2010. otherwise they may not except ur score or may be asked for new score, better to send your Visa office an inquery(email).

thanks

Usually CIC clarifies that rules applicable to an applicant are the ones that were current at the time of submitting the application. So in your case the rule at that time was 1 year, it has become 2 years for all fresh applicants submitting their applications to CIO now.

However this entirely depends on the Visa Officer reviewing your file. They do make exceptions to minor variations. I would suggest since you had submitted your IELTS score in Sept. 2010 & have not received any request for a new score sheet, you may not need a new one.
