I am not sure, why you want to discuss this? When I took the exam, instructor in the room mentioned that if such thing is attempted, they will cancel that student's exam.

I remember when i was in India 8 years ago my classmate gave money to someone to take IELTS exam instead of him, the cost for someone to takes IELTS exam instead of you was Rs. 10,000 in ND and the promise score was between 7.0 - 8.0

Everything is possible in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, etc. Actually i should say anywhere in the work. The only thing you need is ROKHRA.

Those days of cheating are over, now you need applicant's photo on the score sheet.

I believe there are still cheating going on by the help of the test administration in exchange of $$$$.

I am not too sure how one would go about cheating through use of another person nowadays as you need to show your passport as proof to enter the exam center and your name , photo and passport number is printed on your IELTS result sheet.

If you mean cheating from another during the exam , i am not too sure how you would pull that off unless as jnathan has pointed out through a crooked test center.

Working with immigration in Australia...I know there were agencies in place to monitor frauds especially in Punjab and Gujrat...the people who come to Australia on band 6 and 7 cant even say a sentence in English. Its nightmare to communicate when they are driving taxis. They think they are speaking in English and people comming from the subcontinent like me stuggle to understand their English and Hindi. For some reason they think Punjabi is national language of India and in return they ask cant you understand Hindia when they speak in Punjabi...

All may not be the same but the percent of certain regoins in India have bulk migrated to Australia, the Aus govt had to go and conduct an underground investigation...and the two above state came in flying colors for cheating.

This topic is just waste. If someone wants to give the test, go ahead and do it and if someone wants to cheat, go ahead and cheat and face the consequencies. THey are not going to shoot you. FYI, there is no time for cheating. TIme is very limited in IELTS exam and is of utmost importance. If someone tries to help others, he/she will lose their time and nobody does that. THe other way, if you give money to someone for appearing in the test and you get caught, consequencies are dire.... you can face criminal charges under section 420 of IPC and can also be banned from taking the test in future and this is going to certainly effect your immigration or study visa process for future as your passport may be taken back. I have seen some cases in newspapers and this information is solely from newspapers.

I totally believe that cheating doesn't do anyone any good.
Though initially, a person might get a good mark, still later on it will show to be more harmful than useful & that is from a life real experience.
Nevertheless, you will always know that you took something in an unrightful way. Really embarassing infront of one's self & very bad for your self esteem. Besides, the consequencies of being caught while doing such an act, and still, I haven't yet started to mention that it's religiousely forbidden.

On the other side, I believe that hard work is always rewarded & that if you REALLY do your best and have faith in yourself & god, you will probably score more than you think (and that too is from my own experience in life)

If you have certain circumstances that makes it impossible for you to do the hard work & get the required score. I still believe that there is always a way around doing the wrong thing i.e, you need the test to immigrate but you can't get the score at IELTS, you will find another way to immigrate without needing the IELTS ..

Believe me, do the right thing & you will see that things will turn out much better than it would have if you did what's wrong..

am sorry if my words might sometimes sound more like preaching, but believe me they aren't just words, they're a resul tof a lige time experience & whenever I worked with it things turn out miraculousely perfect. ..

Just listen to me, have patience and faith & I promise that you won't be disappointed..

Am surprise you guys are wasting your time and resiources replying to this post by aaa fraudster.

Am equally unhappy that many of you who have contributed in one way or the other would not have done so to other important posts that are begging for replies!

Let us all ignore the originator of this sinful thought. How on earth would a person be asking for the consequencies of cheating if he/she does not have the intention of cheating? Please lets call a spade a spade. Plle on this forum are assumed to be highly skilled and mature, if you do not merit immigrating to Canadathen forgo it and continue your life elsewhere why contemplating rubbish?

Assuming that I started a post on the consequencies Terrorism, you guys would give me the dos and don'ts?

Please let us not even reply to this kind of immature and evil topics anymore.

To (Right) Cheating is wrong however; I just wonder who gives you the right to hash and prevent others from saying their point of view? It's not up to you to ask us as contributors to this forum to terminate talking about any argument you don't like. Peoples here are mature enough to know what's right or wrong, plus all of us are free to discuss any  topic or subject we wish to gossip about it. After all Everyone is entitled to his own opinion.
So please keep your advice to yourself and avoid this thread if you don't like it.
