CIC website clearly states that u have 2 take General Ielts. so don't take any chance and go 4 it.

ONLY GENERAL IELTS TEST.
don't take risk by opting for Academic test.

Rup & Trinato are right, I took Academic too, I scored well and they accepted it, remember Academic is much harder than general, so unless you have already taken it and got a good mark don't take a chance.
