I think there is at least one member who has used Academic. His userid is canadastan. PM him if you want.
Have you done IELTS already? if so, how old is it?

Please don't expect me to answer if your post title has urgent in it and it is not really urgent. Urgent is 911 or you have a definite deadline tomorrow, not that you would like to send in the application soon

hi rimalM, regarding IELTS i used my academic ielts since i was able to take it. General Ielts i believe is easier  than academic. but either way both are still proof for english proficiency. Visa office has accepted my academic ielts and i am done already with my medical examinations.

Just sharing my personal experience.

I used academic as well and so far everything is okay.  Just make sure that you reached the minimum required band.

After submitting academic did your application proceed further?

I think if CIC says general.. submit general.. Why screw up on the time?

That's not true. Read the posts above and you will get the answer.

Hi

That's not true. Read the posts above and you will get the answer.

One persons experience.  But if it is true why would CIC state:

"Note: IELTS has two options for the reading and writing tests: General Training and Academic. You must take the General Training option."

But its not my application.

If you wish to go by rule book, take IELTS general. Its easier and necessary for the purpose.
