Hello

I am writing about a little problem I have...  I went to Florida about 3 yrs ago from toronto and at the airport was handed an I94... when I was coming back to Toronto, at the Fort Lauderdale airport no one took my I94 back.  I recently found the piece of paper that I was supposed to hand in to the immigration officer, however its 3 yrs later and as far as i know, would be considered an overstay.

My passport doesnt even have an exit stamp from the US or entry into Canada... but I do have all my payslips, phone bills, rent receipts, etc from Canada as proof that I did come back and did not overstay.  I also have my ticket but not my boarding pass.
 a
What should i do?... someone told me to check with a lawyer... while the website says to just post everything and they will get back to me in a month.  I do not what any trouble as this wasn't really my fault... the immigration officer should have taken the form and all this would have been erased...!!

Please help anyone...!!

if you can prove that you returned on that day, it should not be a problem. Contact US border control and explain your situation to them. they will direct you.
