Although IELTS validity is two years but for Canada immigration it is one year. You need to submit a fresh IELTS result.

Yes Ria, your friend will need to submit fresh IELTS exam report. Ask her to book IELTS exam as soon as she can.

This is the official statement in the instruction guide.
"Your test results must not be more than one year old at the time that you submit your application."

So, same conclusion as the above 2 ..

What are the exact dates of the submission of the application and the date she took the IELTS?

Note that if she took her IELTS after she submitted her application and the IELTS result from date of submission up to the time she has been asked to submit all her documents has not been more than 2 Years, then she might get away with it.

There are 2 dates you need to take into account:
1)Date of submission of Application.
2)Date of IELTS result.

Hi Bobby, what do you mean submission of application, do u mean INITIAL submission of the application to Nova Scotia? In that case, when I submitted the application June 2009, and though the IELTS exam will be turning 1yr old by August of 2009. If the (initial)application was received by June 2009 then, my IELTS result is still ok? Am I correct? Please confirm.

IELTS score should be one year old at Lock-in-date which is your application submission date. If you had an IELTS score at that time valid then you do not need to do it again

Anybody please confirm..

Initial application received: June 20, 2009
IELTS Exam taken: August 21, 2008  --> IELTS result is still valid (less than a year) from the time
of  application was received (June 20, 2009)

The Lock-in date is June 20, 2009?
What if the Visa Office ask for supporting documents including IELTS result by August 30,2009, is the IELTS result will still be valid?

Any idea?

Thank you!

The IELTS result should not be more than one year old at the time of application submission date. The results remain valid till the immigration process is finalised, irrrespective of the time/years of taken for the entire immigration process.

When did your friend apply? AOR? If your friend attached her IELTS in 2007, what is the date of issue of IELTS result?

Immigration has promised that if your IELTS is no more than a year old when you applied, it will stay valid for the duration of your application.  If somebody initially applied in 2007 and had an IELTS taken then or less than a year before they applied, it remains valid until the applicaiton is completed even though it's more than 2 years old.
