Hi
Hi everyone.
thanks for taking the time to help me.
I have a problem, wish to know what can be done.
I recently came back from South Korea, where i stayed for little under 1 year.
I met my fiance who I did live with during my stay.
What are my options on getting her into canada?
I don't have much money which makes this hard.
She is a university grad, and working in the hotel industry.
are there any ways to get her here to live with me? we will be getting married but after we have
enough money to do so...
anyway to sponsor her without being married? permanent residency?
what happens when you fall in love with someone from another country? just throw it away? its
tearing us both up.
also, to file for immigration in canada, how much money does she need to have to be accepted?
i've heard many numbers. from $100,000 - $500,000...
what i don't understand is, why is this so hard when there are so many immigrants here who don't have much money?
thanks.
1. First of all take a deep breath and start your reading at
www.cic.gc.ca, the official site.
2. You cannot sponsor your fiancee until you either are married or have lived in a common/law relationship for a year.
3. She could come to Canada as a visitor so that you could live together to meet the c/law definition for a year, but whether she would be admitted for that long it is pretty iffy.
4. She could apply for a study permit.
5. There are no financial requirements for spousal sponsorships, you just cannot be on welfare (except for disability)
