Hello,
I have some spouse sponsor ship questions, My situation
My wife wants to sponsor me.
Married with my Canadian wife in the Netherlands last July (she came over).
Me: the Sponsored Spouse Kids: none Citizenship: Netherlands (and living now) Situation: I Lived in Canada with my spouse from 2008 till 2011 (proof available from the housing cooperation) till I was deported under a exclusion order (not a deportation order), because I overstayed to long. (The 1 year ban will end on 18 march 2012). Criminal record: None (clarification from the Dutch government).
My spouse (sponsor) Citizenship: Canadian Kids: 4 Income: the last 6 months (part time worker). Savings: around 6000,-
We are freaking a little out on:
Is she eligible to sponsor me? Does the Ban involving our request for permanent resident in a negative way? Is the time we stayed together in Canada gives us credentials?
Someone have experience in this situation, or any does anyone have a little light for us?
Thanks in advanced

Is she eligible to sponsor me?
there is no minimum income required for the sponsor as long she is not on welfare at the time of you applying then she can sponser you.

Thank you Mandy, We went through many forums, and i have seen different posts on minimum income requirements. Some posts freaked us out, and some brought us up! I hope we will get through the process without to many things working against us or delaying it. It's a long time without my wife, and my step-kids

The minimum income requirements are for family such as parents ect, yeah it can be confusing because it comes under the family class. Im sure everything will be ok, it is very hard to be apart from our spouses, the people on this forum are very supportive, dont be afraid to ask questions, try using the search first but if your unsure then ask away, we dont bite...well not hard ayway lol. I personely dont think your exclusion order will be a probelm as long as you left and completed the requirement of that order. But maybe someone with a bit more knowledge about that can help you. Im sure there are people on here that have applied and got their PR's and have this sort of thing also. Good luck with your application, it might be useful for you if you havnt already to read Leons post its the first post on the family class forum, it has lots of good advice on there.

I find the whole income issue very confusing. For Family class/Spouse/Outland, there is no minimum income requirement, however I had to show proof of income for last 12 months and 'Option C' form from Rev Canada. I know that it states that this is to ensure the sponsor can meet the sponsor requirements for support, so then why do they say there is no minimum income requirement? These forms are quite poorly written and the 'Guide' to completing them is sparse.

I can understand having filled in the forms why people get their applications returned for not having the correct information and such, they are not very clearly written at all.

May I know how long does it take for Option C to arrive after ordering them? My partner just realised that he hasn't called to order them . I guess we might not be able to make it for August.

My Canadian wife had to fill out a question what asked her 12 months period income. First of all they don't tell you what is consider under the income group, like how about child support, cashed rssp savings, how about Osap. We called the help line Omg.. what a terrible help line is that 1 hour trying to get through in the first place, and they said to my wife, hold on.. Let me look up the help pdf.... what the h.... you serious think we didn't look already in it....what kind of boat are we sitting on? ? After 5 min, the helpdesk said call Canada revenue ; @ We did, So for other people to help: Child support, Cashed RSSP savings, Osap, are not consider as income. We knew that a little already, but just to make sure!

Will CIC order option C printout on the behalf of the sponsor if the sponsor doesn't show income as being a student??

No, you have to order it yourself. If you did not file an income tax return, just attach an explanation - saying you have no Option C because you had no income last year since you were a student, or were abroad, or whatever, is OK. CIC will try to get info on whether you were on welfare themselves if you don't submit an Option C, but not all provinces allow that. In any case, your application can be accepted without an Option C as long as you have a good reason for not having one and attach an explanation.

Thanks you, are wonderful as usual: are you 100% sure that one who has not filed taxes before can't get option C print out??

You have to file an income tax return to get an Option C. But you can file an income tax return even if you had no income last year - in fact you should, since you can get the GST credit. Then you can get the Option C.

I was a student for the last two years as well w/no income and I still got my Option C document to sponsor my husband. Everyone (working or not) has to file taxes. Just call and request your Option C, they will send it to you. Make sure you filed your taxes to date.
