Hi! I finally received my passport back today from L.A. with the visas. I am so happy Smiley It has been a long journey of disappointments and triumphs. So to all the people who are in the process of applying for their permanent residency, the only thing I can tell you is to be patient and persevere in your goals. God will give it to us in His time.

I will tell you a little of our journey. We initially filed my husbands FSW application March 10, 2008. We waited for about 6-8 months without any news regarding application. We learned in Oct. 2008 that CIC changed some rules. The cut off was Feb. 28, 2008. We were late by a mere 10 days of filing. This was our first rejection that came Feb. 2009.

With a heavy heart, I started to look for an employer to sponsor me. Alberta health applied for an LMO in my name and got approved about May- June 2009. However, just before I could apply for my work permit they had a restructuring and had to stop all hiring of nurses. I was informed that they are withdrawing their offer of employment to me.

On June 2009, I learned that I can apply as my NOC was included in the list of 38 occupations. I informed my consultant and proceeded to file my application. On July 2009, I received a letter from CIC of rejection. I was flabbergasted and devastated of the news until I read the rejection letter in detail. My consultant filed under the wrong NOC which resulted in the rejection. During this period, I was depressed and questioning God's plans for me. I gathered all my faith in Him and prayed for His Guidance. We reapplied on July 2009 and after 14 months WE GOT IT!!!

I hope my story gives people the courage and patience to persevere. If one door closes He will surely open a window. You will just have to look and have faith in the Almighty.
