This is sooooo not on topic...

I used to think Heathrow was the biggest mess on the face of this earth (especially when transitting). However I recently had the pleasure of transitting through JFK and that experience set new records for bad airport experiences. What a freakin' disaster. It's almost like they tried to get everything wrong. No signs? Check! Filthy bathrooms? Check! Irregular monorail service? Check! No elevators/escalators working? Yup! Rude staff who give wrong information? Done! Want to spend over two hours in a security line? We got you covered! Never going through there again unless it's my final destination. What a hell hole.

I've now come to realize that I am quite fond of Heathrow...  Cheesy

Hey, I get it, each to there own!
To me, flying via europe then getting the train seems way more hassle. I hate even flying to london then connecting to manchester, just adds extra time to an already long and tiring journey. Plus, I don't have friends in europe and when I go to england its because my parents, siblings, grandparent and friends are there and I want to spend as much time with them as poss.
But like I said, I get it, i just disagree, but that's what this thread is all about!!

OK, another off topic post -

They say something about "a woman scorned", but in this case it seems it is just unwise to be with certain people.

What a bad man.

Is it wrong of me to find that story slightly amusing though?

That's OK, it really is amusing. It also goes to show what kind of people with what kind of work ethics and general moral standards are supposedly keeping us safe Smiley I have so much faith in the terrorlist system right now <3

From the article

"Senator Joe Lieberman, chairman of the Senate Homeland Security committee, said the findings confirm that security efforts are "unacceptably ineffective." He said the report has raised enough concerns that he feels it is time for the U.S. and Canada to discuss whether it makes sense to require Canadians to have visas in order to enter the United States."

Lieberman is a psychopath and a blowhard who won reelection as an Independent after losing the Democratic primary, (considering he votes like a Republican, no big surprise). He's now so unpopular he's announced he won't seek reelection when this term ends. I wouldn't take the fact he says it as proof that a majority of US Congress members believe it.

if they were to actually do that i wonder how that would affect trade. how would they be able to allow truck drivers get visas based on delivering freight and getting freight that is returning to canada. obviously lieberman never factored in the fact that thousands of trucks cross the border every day. and that the united states and canada are the worlds largest trading partners.
