hello everybody ,
i am egyptian and i am planning for immigration to canada ..
actually i am a doctor and the english is not my official language so it is the only problem that i may face ..
so i entered IELTS exam for 2 times in order to get 6 points ...
the first time i got 5 immigration points only ..
while the second time i got 7 points but the only thing that makes me worried is that
my score is as follows :
Speaking .. 7
Writing .. 5.5
Listening .. 4
Reading ... 4
so in the listening section i got 0 immigration point , so is this will make any problem for the processing of my file ,
although the first time i been through the exam i got 1 immigration point  in the listening section !!!...
thanks a lot

I don't think it's a problem as long as you have total 67 points or more.

Hi to all,

I received my IELTS results today.

Listening 6.5
Reading 6.5
Writing 6.5
Speaking 7.5
Overall 7

I want to know if its acceptable or not.
Somewhere I read that in Listening one should get 7.5. Is it true?

Moreover, as per the above score, point wise I think it gives me 14.
For Listening 2
Reading 4
Writing 4
Speaking 4
Am I correct?

If its true, then my total points will be 70. Should I consider myself safe?

Please put some light on it if you can. Specially I request those veterans who has real grasp over this issue.

Thanks in advance

The link he gave you page 10 has the table for how you calculate your points from IELTS.

Speaking 6.5 will get you high proficiency = 4 points
Listening 4.0 will get you no proficiency = 0 points
Reading 4.0 will get you basic proficiency = 1 point
Writing 4.0 will get you basic proficiency = 1 point

Total you get 6 points for English.

Yes, with speaking 6 points, you get moderate so that's 2 points so 4 points total.

If you send this IELTS and you end up with under 67 points, they will refuse, yes.
