2 weeks ago I have received a letter from NY that my case as a skilled worker was finalized and that i needed to send them my passport for the issuance of the visa. A few weeks prior to that I got my CAIPS files that indicatedd that I did not have any problems. I overnighted  my passport to them with 4 pictures. In a few days I got this by email: Dear Sir,

The letter sent to you on 23 Sept 2010,which requested your passport (s) for the finalization of your immigrant case, was sent to you in error. We are
currently not in a position to issue your visa (s) at this time. Please refrain from sending your passport to our office.

You will be contacted in the near future with further instructions. You can expect to have your immigration case finalized within the next 60-90 days.

We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

Canadian Consulate General
Immigration Section
New York, New York"

Has anyone had a similar issue.

Thanks

 Sad

Have you heard any update from NY since you got that letter? Please share

My medicals were sent in September and some documents they requested two weeks ago. I was asked to send in my passport this week. This is with Buffalo. I am sure you would get ppr request soon. btw my status didn't change to medical results received. Did you check your spam folder to see if you had gotten an email from them.

I am not an expert at Canadian Immigration.
Please don't expect me to answer if your post title has urgent in it and it is not really urgent. Urgent is 911 or you have a definite deadline tomorrow, not that you would like to send in the application soon

On Dec 24th, 2010 got another request to resend the passports and photos. Sent them on the same day. 2 days ago got the passports back with visas and instructions to land.

Next step is to go Buffalo and land.
Thanks everyone for support. I will update the thread after I land.

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting. Don't give up no matter what.
