My partner and I do not live together, therefore we are not in a common law relationship.

1. Must i apply under the Federal Skilled Worker category as a single person

2. What implication would there be if during the processing and approval of my application i get married to my fiance? When should i notify them?

3. Also, if my application is successful then i get married to my fiance, how long before i can file his papers for him to join me?

Hi,

If you apply now by yourself and get married before the decision is made on your application then you will need to notify the visa office about the marriage and will have to add spouse in your application and send the fees and all other documents, its not going to make any difference but it will take a bit more time. If you get the PR and married later once you are in Canada then you can apply for the spouse straightaway but it wil take similar time for his application processing.

Cheers

Including your spouse after getting PR is way out long journey.. be prepared to live on PR alone for 1 yr to be eligible for sponsoring your spouse... don't take this easy and lightly. Your PR is under fast track and not the sponsored one..

If your application is still in process and you got married then its easy .... send marriage certificate, all the forms filled again, procesing fees for your sposue, education/work related docs(if required), birth certificate, photos, PCC, additional funds proof

good luck

you are better off adding your spouse during your application as it is the best and safest option. There is no law that says you need to wait until after a year when you receive your PR before you are eligible to sponsor people. Please refer to the website as alot of people give wrong advice!!
