Husband wants to work in US while we live in Canada..is this possible?

We are currently trying to get some information about how we can live in Canada but have my husband work in the US.  I am a Canadian citizen with permanent residence status in the US right now but we would like to move to Windsor ON but have hubbie work in Detroit.  I would love any information on if this is a possibility and if so what is needed to allow for this.

If you guys want to live in Canada, you'll need to sponsor him for permanent residence . . . but that doesn't preclude him from continuing to work in the US (assuming he's a US citizen), even after he becomes a Canadian PR. 

You're eligible, as a Canadian citizen, to apply to sponsor him, via an outland PR application, even while you're living in the States.  The process takes from 4-10 months and you will need to demonstrate that you, as the Canadian, intend to re-settle in Canada.  There is no minimum income requirement for spousal sponsorships.

Once he has PR status he can live in Canada/Ontario, and be able to travel back and forth to go to work in Detroit without issue.  But until he has PR status it'll be a different story - it's probably better, if he's going to be working in the States, for him to stay in the States until after PR is approved . . . because he's not allowed to "move to Canada" until after he becomes a PR, and although coming to Canada to stay with you as a visitor is allowed, every time he leaves Canada and tries to get back in he'll likely be hassled at the border.  At any time they could refuse him entry, or even exclude him from Canada for a period of time (up to 2 years), and that would seriously mess with his being able to become a PR.
