I have a friend who is thinking of getting into HR, is this a good career to get into in Canada as an immigrant? Does anyone work in this industry? Is it an industry open to immigrants who are willing to go back to school and get the training?

Human Resources is a highly regulated profession in Canada.  It's not easy to get into even if you have good experience and studies abroad. You need to be certified here as HR Professional by the recognized authorities.  But, it's not impossible either.  You have to be prepared and keep trying to get into it, as I am at the moment.

There are a few 'Bridging Programs' for internationally trained professionals in Canada.  I'm trying to get into one of the programs now.  Perhaps it's worth for you too to inquire.

I'm not allowed to post links here but search in Google for JobSkills.org  Bridge to HR program

Good luck!

I have heard a lot about licencing of professions. How can I apply for HR Licence and need to apply for Marketing Licence for my husband. Please elaborate what does licencing means? Does it helps in job search?
What is the process? Can we start the process while we are in India or we will have to be physically present in Canda for the same?
