Hi guys,

For the benefit of some of us that will need this info very soon, can anyone kindly tell the house what it entails (i.e documents to send to your VO) to add your spouse in the middle of your PR process if you initially applied single. Also, is it better to add your spouse before or after your medical exam.

I am aware this  might be VO specific but i will appreciate anyone that has done this recently to please fill us in.

Thanks as you respond....

Hi Guys,
I think the procedure should be same as you were applying as first time together.
You should follow the CHECK LISTS of CIO and Visa Office.

AND dont delay informing visa office, as their guide specifically mentions to inform them immediately.

Stuff I can remember, that, you should Send(also refer to your check lists) :

- Fee Submitted  @ 550CDN,

- Schedule 1 Background declaration,
- Family History form,
- Travel Details (Required by London, others check their Visa Office list).

- Photos as required by the Visa office (Refer to your visa office specific check List)

- Passport Copy of your spouse.

- Birth Certificate of your spouse (original or Copy as required)

- Marriage Certificate (copy/original as required by visa office, also should be in English or French, of not Translate),

- Marriage Photos (as are required by some visa offices)

- Spouse's Academic documents (as needed by Visa office check list, Transcripts etc as well)

- Spouse's Experience Certificates etc  (as needed by Visa office check list)

- New Proof of funds, that shows you have money for 2 individuals.

And anything else you can remember Smiley  hope this helps.

There was an example earlier in this forum, when adding a spouse later in the process (read PR approved) cancelled the whole application together. the person got the application approved, landed and then added the spouse.
The reason being, the marriage date is recorded already in ur marriage certificate, and u cannot change it
& VO notices such details.

So its advisable to to add ur spouse as soon as u hv file number.
It may delay ur process by few months.

Basic docs reqmnt is : birth certificate, copy of passport of spouse & marriage certificate
U can also add ur spouse degree certificates etc.
There will be an increase in fees, and the proof of funds reqmnt also changes

Best bet is to send a case specific inquiry to ur VO and wait for their response.
