please advice me how to write an email to immigration section of NewDelhi embassy regarding the status of my file,
mentioning my file No. and date of birth and just requesting to know the status of my application is enough or should i write an detailed email of dates sending the application and so on?

Log on to ECAS and look for the
Contact us. Follow the instructions. It is called Case Specific Enquiry. You can briefly request that you would like to know the current status of your application.
It is faster than any other method.
