Hello everyone, I am sponcering my parents (from Nepal) and their application is being processed in New Delhi. We got a letter around December 2006 to send medical forms and passport which we did in January 2007. Their current online status is 'In Process' and when i click the link on details it says "medical forms received and the application process started on September 25, 2004. A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision."
The problem is we have been seeing this for months and nothing has happened. My parents have an urgent need to travel and the passport is stuck in New Delhi. Please help, what can we do? I have sent numerous emails and fax to the embessy, but no actual response.
Is there a way to get just the passport and resend it? Do we have any options?

Please help.

Thank you.

I think the problem might be that in India, they will not mail your passport out of the country.  It's illegal.  So they probably have your passports ready, but they can't send them back.

You might have to go there in person to request the passports.  I believe you have to have a notarized letter from your parents giving you permission to pick up their passports.  So you should obtain that first.

Good luck.
