Hi

I am applying for Canadian PR under Skilled Worker Category with my family, my son who is 6 yrs old is visually impaired and according to doctors his  condition would cause excessive demand on health and welfare system of Canada.

Can anyone please help me:
How to get Private Health Insurance and How much it costs?
If I get Private Health Insurance, what will be the chances of getting PR?

Please Give me your Valuable advises and experiences.

Private health care coverage doesn't usually cover pre-existing conditions. So you should expect to pay a large premium for your son. I don't think any of us here can accurately guess how much it will cost. I would contact a reputable insurance company (like blue cross) and ask them for a quote for your specific situation.

I'm sorry - I can't answer your second question. Hopefully someone else will be able to help.

Good luck.

Just to be clear - I don't have any more information to provide.

I was recommending that you contact Blue Cross to ask for a quote. This is something you'll have to do yourself since they will need detailed information about your son's condition to provide a quote.

Well Visually impaired kids can have a great future as well. They have their other senses enhanced. I wish your kid best of luck in life and future. He is gonna do great, I am sure.

As for the Canadian PR, I am not sure about PR being granted or not to such cases. First thing is that you have to clear Medicals for all the family. If one person is not fit, according to their criteria, they will refuse the entire family (according to my understanding).  Its not like if one person is excessive demand, they will ask you to get Private Insurance and grant other Govt. cover, no siree, they will just refuse PR.

As for visually impaired, I am not very sure, that it should be "Excessive Demand". Special schools must exist in Canada, and visually challenged kids can do as good as unchallenged.

Do consult a lawyer or may be someone here with similar experience might reply.

Again best of luck to you and the kid for future.
