Hi all,

Kindly advise me how to do landing for my dependent child studying in Canada as an intnl. student. Will she need to cross the border at Buffalo and turn back for landing formalities OR is there any recent simplification of the process? Can it be done in the city where she is studying? Kindly make your input and help us. thanks in advance.

It could be that we don't have the experience on this forum to advise on this question.  Perhaps you will find better answers on the Internation Student forum under Temporary Visas.  If your daughter is in a homestay situation, I am sure you can arrange for the person there to pick your daughter up from the airport.  I hope she will enjoy her time in Canada.

Once the principal has "landed" the dependent can either go to the Border and "flagpole" or make an appointment at an inland office by calling the call centre 1-888-242-2100

Thank you Pippin,

But she is already in Canada for the last one year as an intl student and is also is a dependent in our PR application. Now we got our PR an are planning our first landing. Now my question is what is the easiest procedure for her to complete the landing formalities to become a permanent resident?
