Guys, does anyone know if the credit history earned in the US counts in Canada?

Nope! My credit counselor told my husband that he'll have to eventually get a bank account with his name on it and start building up credit all over again. Which in my opinion (and his of course) is kind of dumb, but oh well! He isn't getting a bank account until he can work which is fine with me. But the short answer is no haha.

Hello Fellows,

Building your credit report is tough if you don't have income so using your credit card got to be correlative. Meaning that you have some kind of steady income or some savings, one shouldn't have any problem build it up.

I got three unsecure CRs and am using them with one thing in mind (Building a credit in Canada).

They are nice to have it,  but when you got to pay them... I just don't like them... Tongue

I have a ONE year lease and that helps to build your credit as well.

check out Capital One for canada, they have a credit card with limit of $500 and u just pay a little per year fee to have the card and that would help get ur credit up fast and a tip is if you have one spend a little on the card then pay it right off and keep doing it over the months and eventually that will raise ur rating, even if u just pay the minimum per month is fine just don't miss any payments
