Hi guys! It's been a month now since I arrived in Calgary. I want to work already but I don't know how to start looking for a job. Does anyone here can share me experienced how they started? Thank you in advance.

1. Decide on a career path. Where do you want to work? What are your skills and what type of occupation would you like to work in?
2. Prepare a resume that helps define your goals, and highlights your work experience and skills
3. Start searching, Use Workopolis, Monster, Canada Job bank, or even bring your resume in person to places that you would like to work

We hope to be in Calgary by November 1. I've been contacting job recruiters and sending my resume in reply to many opportunites that I've found online.

Since I'm not in Calgary yet, I'm betting that I won't have many people contacting me until I'm actually there.

Suzanne's advice is great. I would also add that you should start an online profile with LinkedIn.com. One of the best and free places to have amn online resume. You can connect with so many people that way....
