How to apply for OWP along with inland app

I am wondering is there any special procedure/forms that need to be filled out when applying for an OWP at the same time as submitting an inland spousal application besides just mailing it both in the same envelope?

I currently have a post graduation OWP and am working now, but the work permit will likely expire before I get AIP, so if I send in an OWP together with my inland application, it means I will have implied status while waiting for my AIP right? Is there anything else I need to do to keep my status legal here in Canada?
