Hi all,

I need to ask about the Canadian immigration procedure where my wife holds a Canadian passport and we got married last year dec in our Homeland. Then I got the job in Sweden this januray, and we came our here and got the PR VISA of Sweden on our passports.

What do I or She needs to do to get me the Permanent Residence status in Canada when she is leaving abroad with me here in Sweden??
Regards,

Yas

Your wife can apply to sponsor you to become a permanent resident of Canada.  She will have to send evidence of your relationship.  She will have to prove to immigration that you both plan to move to Canada when you get PR.  When you get the PR visa, you will at some point have to go to Canada to get your PR status activated.  If you don't do it, the visa expires.

Being married to a Canadian citizen, you don't have to live in Canada for any length of time to keep your PR but if you want to apply for citizenship, you need to live in Canada for 3 years before you can apply.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/ has all your information on immigration, family sponsorship etc.  Spousal sponsorship is not refused due to lack of income so a housewife can sponsor a husband.
