Depends on what you want..why would you need his interview questions/ answer from the caips notes if he passed and was granted a visa?

You should be focussing on the interview more than the CAIPS notes as per your case/timeframe.

Well we have no idea why they are calling him for an interview and they didn't give us enough notice to order caips notes to find out. I was informed by a few people that we may not get an answer right away regarding the end result of the interview i.e positive or failed so I figured we'd be able to get an idea from the notes.

We actually are focussing on the interview but there isn't much to focus on considering we've been married for several years and I live with him and our daughter overseas waiting for this process to move along....

So back to my original question: How long after an interview would someone who has wanted details about the specifics of their interview wait before ordering CAIPS notes?

Thanks for your response I guess....

Ideally you would order the CAIPS notes before the interview, so you could figure out why the VO thought an interview was necessary and you could prepare accordingly.

After the interview, there is no rush to get the CAIPS notes - they won't help you any unless the visa is rejected and you need to appeal. I would just wait until you find out if the visa was approved or not.

His answers should be recorded, though the VO types them in the computer as the applicant is speaking, so they are not always verbatim. My interview transcript had a lot of mistakes - the VO summarized what I said for some answers, and summarized incorrectly.

On the website it has listed 6 weeks. And usually once the interview is over they will give you an answer right away..yes or no..from what i have read in most cases...
I have not read anyone being denied without a reason, and they just cant call u and tell u they will mail you the outcome as they have to either retain/give the passport (  in CHC ND india this is the way they follow interviews)
assuming CIC is live in updating results of interviews..i assume you can order it after the interview and once you have it after 6 weeks it should have the notes of your interview and outcome..
CAIPS usually helps you prepare for an interview .....

In some countries you will not necessarily be told the decision at the end of the interview, and in any case the VO may not have made the decision by that point, if background checks still have to be finished.

But it might take a while to get the CAIPS notes on to your file. I would wait 6 weeks or so, and if you still haven't gotten a decision letter, then order the notes.

Thank you for the responses.....Yeah I guess at this point we have no clue what the IO's may pull as there have been a few cases in the last 2 months where the IO's have denied the applicants and they are now going through appeals....its all sooo scary so we're just going in expecting the worst.....pretty bad I know! It was out of curiosity to see just how they record the answers and see how much they mess up as I've heard that they kind of change the applicants answers and record them differenly. It should be interesting to see the outcome....fingers crossed and insallah it all works out :-)

As long as we get over this hurdle the waiting for the rest of the stuff won't seem soo bad....lol

Thanks everyone and good luck to all of you too!

Don't stress.  We (my Chinese wife and I) were prepared for the wort too, but the interview went very smoothly.  The VO was respectful and friendly, and at then at the end told us we had passed.

Sometimes interviews are scheduled simply because the VO who assesses the documents feels uncomfortable about making a decision pro or con. So, he/she delegates the job to the VO in charge of interviews.  Nothing sinister.

There are many posts in this forum giving the questions asked during interviews.  Review them before the interview, and since your relationship is genuine, the truth will probably be revealed.
