How Much Money we can Carry from INDIA.

Guys,

I need some help/info.

1) How much Cash one can carry from India legally (with in Govt of India/RBI Guidelines) . Like suppose for family of 3 Landing requirement is C$ 16,967. So keeping this in mind one can make Draft+TC of this much amount (like 2 bank draft of 8K & 9K C$ approx). But In case person wants to carry extra amount can s/he take more than this in form of cash from India legally? what is the max cash limit?


2) Is there any such Max Limit in Canada? We know that one has to declare at airport custom if s/he has more than 10K C$.

3) Any other important information one should take care about Landing funds .

A person going abroad on emigration can draw foreign exchange up to the amount prescribed by the country of emigration or USD 100,000. He can draw foreign exchange up to USD 100,000 on self- declaration basis from an Authorised Dealer in India This amount is only to meet the incidental expenses in the country of emigration. If requirement exceeds USD 100,000, the person requires to obtain the prior approval from the Reserve Bank.


2) Is there any such Max Limit in Canada? We know that one has to declare at airport custom if s/he has more than 10K C$.
 Not sure. But you can check with Scotia bank or HSBC bank where you can open account in Canada from India

Not just initially - it's always for 1yr only (from the date of meds), or linked to the pps expiry (of anyone in the family).

Yes, This Visa is mainly for Initial Landing purpose with 1 year Validity from your date of Medical. Like In my case I had my medicals on 6th-April-2010 and Validity I got is till 6th-April-2011. So in any case I have to land before this date to kick start my actual PR process.
After Landing in Canda immigrants get their actual PR card which I guess -not sure is for 5 years.

2) FD Receipt
3) CAD
4) Others if any.

Please suggest I have FD with bank.
