According to
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/graduates.asp#education, the educational requirement is
Two years of study – At least 16 months—or four semesters.
Make note of this
or clause since a typical post secondary program semester runs for 15 weeks, which doesn't technically amount to 4 calendar months. There're few select programs like Registered or Practical Nursing whose semesters run for 18 weeks, but then again those types of programs usually last longer than 2 academic years anyway. To add to the confusion, the Instruction Guide at
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/5609E.PDF, Page 9, has no mention of 4 semesters definition at all instead stating that
You must have studied in a program of study or training with a full-time duration of at least 16 months (i.e. two academic years of at least 8 months excluding scheduled breaks, such as summer holidays, in the calculation)
to satisfy the requirements. Any thoughts?
