Hello Us Consulate in NY got my passport last week Friday, would you know how long it will take to get the passport back in the mail? Or how long they take to get it out of their office?

Thank you all.

Not sure if you're asking about Buffalo or NYC...but I sent mine out to NYC on August 19, it arrived on the 20th...ECAS status changed to "decision made" yesterday (24th) and USPS Express Mail tracking shows my prepaid return envelope was mailed out this morning (25th). I'm beyond impressed!

Here's hoping everyone has such great luck/service getting their passports back!

Another update...about 20 minutes ago there was a knock at the door and there was the mailman with my envelope filled with documents, and my passport with my visa attached! Mailed out of NYC this morning and arrived 3 hours later! I almost kissed the postman. lol USPS Express Mail is worth every single penny of the $17.50 I must say.

No, I'm in New England...I had heard they were actually pretty slow getting passports stamped in NYC but they appear to have fixed that problem. lol

I wish they were fast in delivering PPR as well ....  :(
However Shamrock didn't you use the express delivery option which is faster than regular delivery.

Yes, I used Express Mail...but the time they processed/stamped my passport in was still only a week.

Can anyone advise how they sent their passport from Canada to the NYC consulate? I am not clear on the instructions regarding couriers.

hello,
if you are in Canada - you can make it we way we did and were really happy with outcome.
we are in Canada too and last month we needed to have some very important documents to be authenticated in the US. We needed to send them to New York state and then to be back to us in Canada and not being lost. So we used UPS service - we bought prepaid envelope, wrote our address on it and put it into the main envelope together with documents and sent to the place they needed to go. This way we were easily able to check on-line when the office in the US mailed it back to us by tracking number that was assigned to the return envelope. And we were happy to track and be sure that they received it and then safely got them back in that envelope we sent to them.
Good luck
