How long to get Visitor visa from Chandigarh consulate waiting since Aug 25

I have applied for Temporary Resident Visa to attend Birthday celebration of  my grandsons (Gaganpreet Singh 19.10.2011 & Mankaranpreet Singh 03/10/2011). Birthday celebration & Shri Akhand path (Relegious celebration) is already fixed on 22/10/2011.

Since it has been more than a month & 10 days (Total 40 days)  since the application submitted, I thought of approaching you to know about  the status of my VISA.

I would be grateful for the same as this will go along way to ease my anxiety to great
extent.

My mother in law has received her passport back with Visa.Passport was received on 20th Sept 2011 at canadian consulate Chandigarh for processing and she received the passport on 29th Oct 2011 . Status on VFS website got updated on 27th October

  @  toronto_cool - Thanks for the update. I will be applying a TRV for my parents and would like to know how much money do I and my parents have to reveal. And things I should keep in mind when applying. And it is going to be at the Chandigarh office. Thanks
