When I sent my documents to CIO Sydeny I sent a bank draft of 550$. Its almost five months now and I don't know if they have cashed the bank draft or not. Does anybody know if there is an expiry to bank draft.HuhHuhHuhHuh?

yeh! most of the banks issue bank draft having validity for 6 months.

i guess urs has been already encashed.

dear lamhay how do you know it has already been encashed because i havent had any reply from CIC in last 5 months

5months means urs was reached at the end of april. As we can see almost all of the May applicants (whose application hasn't been returned) have their cc/dd encashed, so we can predict the same for ur case.

applicants from late april/early are still waiting for the reply (AOR) from CIC. I hope they/you wil get their AOR very soon.

thanks. do you mean those whose application is not returned their bank draft has been encashed.?? do you know if they want to return someone's application how long they take to return it. is it done sooner i mean within 2 to 3 months. thanks much for your replies!!!

yeh i think so. applications, if returned, r sent back within 2-3 months.

Bank DD is valid for 6 month but if u have bank DD in Foreign Currency it will valid for more then 1 year

Don't worry, they will encash the DD before expiry. But it is not mandatroy to send AOR immedatily.
