How long does it take to receive security clearance from FBI / NY State Police

Does anyone know how long it takes to get the security clearance information from the FBI and /or NY State Police once you send in fingerprints? Weeks ?? Months??

FBI = 2 to 3 weeks / Definite!
NY State Police = Should be about the same.
