Once CIC receives the application, how long does it take to receive the acknowledgement letter?
Thanks!

For me it was less than 2 weeks after I sent the application. I received the acknowledgment letter and the booklet to study from.

Yeah, it was extremely quick, but I am paying for it now after I got the RQ :) lol
I don't think it matters which city you are from, as all applications are initially processed in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
I am from DT Toronto.

amirchov,

You got RQ at what stage ?    After taking test or after sending in Citizenship application ?   They are at two very different stages of the process so wondered when exactly you were given RQ ?  Thanx

I received it at the day of the test, after the interview. They couldn't match my list of absences to passport stamps, since I used Nexus (iris scan). I was sure the CIC office would have a list of entry/exit from the border control agency... Talk about lowering my expectations :)

two quick questions:

(a) can you explain steps when you show up for a Test  - - - arrive and complete test and THEN go to some interview area with all your files and papers and what happens there Huh

(b) NEXUS question - - When you mention Nexus and the whole issue that they maybe could not reconcile numbers  - -  is it that you used Nexus more for land crossings into US versus airline travel ?  Since there are always stamps for airliine travel   YES ?

You arrive to do the test and the first step is guidance regarding the test, and the interview process. After that they call you individually and go over your file, i.e., the list of absences and the passport stamps. This was done in the same room where everybody gets tested. After that the CIC officer said she'll let me do the test but I'll be given the RQ.

On the contrary, air travel no longer requires stamps. Land crossing will generate a stamp in passport.
