So, if I took my IELTS in 2010, does that mean I can still use it or is it only valid for those taking the test now? Can you provide me with the website where it states two year?

Now, do the IELTS results go with the the initial application to to Intake Office in Sydney?

Thank you.

I think CIC's acceptance for IELTS is 1 Year, regardless of its own validity of 2 years.
Am I wrong?

Yes a bit wrong. As per new rule of CIC IELTS will be valid for 2 years from now on.

Hi,

IELTS will be valid for 2 Years. You have to include your results with the application packet. Hope this helps. For more information follow the link below.

Reference: "cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/language-testing.asp"

Note: If you do not include your test results with your application, it will not be processed and will be returned to you.

Effective Dec 23, 2010 the IELTS validity was updated to 2 years.
This information is available in the following link.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.asp.
I think it does not mind wheather you take the test before or after Dec 23, 2010.
If you are applying after Dec, 2010 your IELTS will be valid 2 years from the day you took the test.
Hope this clear the confusion.

LeoNYC, I am not sure if your previous application required proof of IELTS, but I think IELTS results have to be ORIGINAL not a copy.
