Hi

Once the medicals are  done and if everything is alright in that case PP request should come soon. It can be as soon a 1 month and as late as 6 months.
The background check also depends on which all countries you have stayed.

As far as i know all should be okk. Just a matter of time. Patience is the name of the game.

Seniors would be better albe to answer i guess.

Best wishes

What is security screening?

Security screening is a process by which the name of a security clearance applicant is verified against CSIS databases to determine whether the applicant is mentioned in relation to threat-related activities. Depending on the level or category of security clearance required, security screening can also involve interviewing the applicant's friends, neighbours and employers, consulting with local police, and possibly interviewing the applicant.

There are three levels of security clearance as defined by the GSP: Confidential (Level I), Secret (Level II) and Top Secret (Level III). The level of security clearance required is determined by the need for access to classified information or assets in the performance of duties associated with an individual's employment. Level I and II security clearances involve checking CSIS databanks. Level III security clearances require a full field investigation, which involves checking CSIS records; interviewing friends, neighbours and employers; consulting with local police; and, possibly interviewing the applicant.

You are discussing 2 different processes.  Security background check is for Immigration where CSIS checks out the organizations and possible associations that you may have.  The security screen in for (mostly) Federal Gov't employees and is set at level required for the job the person is applying for.  You missed out 2 levels of Security screening, Basic and Enhanced.

I've received medicals request together with RPRF and passport request.

What are the background checks done by them during this time to take a decision?

Cheers
