Hi All,
Anybody can help me, How much time we have to wait for the decision after medical? We applied on May 2004 and AOR received on June 2004. Received medical instructions on Nov 2007. We sent to CHC Singapore our Medical results on 30 Nov 2007 and Police clearance and worth statement on Dec 2007 But, until now we haven't receive any letter from CHC Singapore yet. I always check the online status and it says In process - medical results had been received. By the way my husband is the principal applicant and the dependents are me and our 2 year old daughter. I hope you can shed some lights on my query.
Thank you,
Abbey

heheheee... aahh, how long after the medicals? well, I have asked that a few times before.
For most people it takes around 2-3 months to get the passport requests. But that depends on a few things: how many countries you have lived in, having a last name like BinLaden, being pregnant, having a medical condition, or other info that could make the wait time loger.
People waiting 8-10 months, or having to retake the medicals because of a wait period longer than a year and then receiving their passport request with no problems is not unheard of.
For me it's been about 6 months, 16 days, and 1 hour since the hospital sent the results and I haven't heard back from them yet - not that I'm keeping track or anything.
The point is, there's no need to worry as long as CIC does not give you a reason to do so.

You must send an email to CIC after waiting 3 months.

My medicals were completed on 4 October, 2007. And my online status still shows "In Progress", like it has been for the last four years. No indication of "Medicals Received" like yours. So after three and a half months since doing my medicals we are still waiting for CIC Singapore to reply. Till then we'll keep playing the "waiting game" like most of the people on this forum. Meanwhile I am getting on with the life.... BEST WISHES TO ALL THOSE WHO APPLIED TO IMMIGRATE TO CANADA, and All the Luck Too...

Hi ALL,
Thanks for your reply.
Mike, I am just curious did you try to click on the "IN PROCESS"? When you click the IN PROCESS you will then see there "Medical results have been received".
GOOD LUCK!!!

Abbey Joy,
As Olaoye stated it depends with the back log. Sometimes the cic can forget to update there website 'med received' but will soon write to you to request for ppt. once ppt received they will definately show 'complete' on the profile. have you all paid the right of permanent resident fee yet.

We sent our application on May 2004 together with the Right of permanent residence fee plus the principal and spouse processing fee. Then, we received the official receipt on June 2004.

Hi Martha,
Our medical done on Nov 2007 and also our Police Clearance and worth statement sent on Dec 2007. My husband and I submitted 3 police clearances because we have stayed in 3 different countries. You think the checking of criminal background is the cause of the delay? Just curious...
thanks and regards, abbey

I also have 3 countries that are up for background checks - almost 7 months since medicals sent with no reply. To me, that's the most logical reason for the delay. That, or my file folder slipped between the desks at the office and no one has noticed.

Mike,
Have you heard back from CHC yet? You think its shouldn't be a problem to inquire via fax? Its 3 months now since we sent to them the medical results.

GURDEEP : ABBEY : And all on this thread.
Thank you very much Gurdeep for the email address.
I sent an e-mail to the address Gurdeep gave me <singapore-im-enquiry@ international.gc.ca> on 27 Feb, and I got an acknowledgment immediately and then on 29 Feb, I got an e-mail from CHC Singapore telling me that a letter was sent out to me 2+ months ago with a passport request. Meaning that I got a passport request 45 days after my medicals. Apparently the letter got lost in the post. They further asked me to send them my fax number and they would fax the passport request to me.
So all you guys waiting for months after your medicals please check back with your visa offices. Especially Abbey cause your case is very similar to mine. And Yojimbo please check out the email option.
Best wishes to all you guys.
Mike
NB : My online Client Application Status still says "IN PROGRESS"

Hi Abbey Good luck to you and your family.
I am in the same situation as now waiting for my paspport request (landidng papers) since Jan 29th.
They normally take (as they said) 2 to 3 months to get back to me for any further news. So I am sure that after themeds and payment of the RPRF they shouldnt have any problems and issues.
Abbey i applied in and around the same time (june 2004) so i guess thats the time they take. all we can do is to wait and see and hope for the best. However how much time normally we have to travel to Canada once we receive the visa on passport????
cheers and have a good day

HI Malimmoa,
Thank you Good luck to you too!!! Where did you apply? And when your medical done? I am counting also the time since we sent all the documents to CHC Sin on Dec 21 '07. We should receive a letter this month. Hopefully the PPR...
Hi Mike, You received PPR, is that mean there will be no interview?

Congratulations mikelingen for getting the passport request, wish you Good Luck. This is always recomended that we should inquire about the situations from CIC if it is delayed. Now days postage system is worst, specially in the gulf, we can not trust postage department. If you click on "In Process" in online status may be you will find that "Medical Received" Best Wishes to All

Hi Abbey, Gurdeep, Yojimbo, Mustee & All,
Abbey - Yes most certainly you can fax CIC, Singapore your request for a status of your application... the number is 65-6854-5874. Don't forget to write your full name and case file number.
As promised by the email CIC Singapore faxed me the letter which was dated 31-10-2007 ( I did my medicals on 4-10-2007 and sent my PCC & Bank statments on 22-11-2007). I was informed by email that they normally send out another reminder about 3 months after the first letter. The letter asked me to send my passports by post to Singapore with 60 days, which was not possible. Anyway I am having a friend take my passports over to Singapore for me.
Will let you guys know of any developments as I know.
Cheer up all you guys, your time is coming soon.
Have a nice day !
Mike
