I have peculiar question - Canadian Embassy in New Delhi has requested my passport as part of last step in my immigration to Canada BUT unfortunately, I am out of country ( In Australia). Embassy has requested me to submit passport in 30 days, which I CANNOT....as I am in middle of my studies in Australia and it would require me to GO to India and then mail the passport. By law, you cannot mail a passport out of any country so cannot send my passport directly from here...and anyway they will mail it back to India only.

What should I do? Is there any way to request Canadian Embassy to give me some more time to submit my passport? Can I request to stretch the time period from 30 days to like 60 days or more?Huh

Please suggest. I am totally stuck

Regards

I guess worth a try: See contact details below...

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/missions/new-delhi.asp

Also worth writing to them with all your case details: General Enquiry:   Delhi-im-enquiry  @  international.gc.ca

Unless you need your passport quite soon, you can send it to India with a friend who is traveling to India and he could mail it.
You are quite far in the process. My advice, don't blow it off.

if someone is going to india - send it with them to yr family / friend in india
and then ask them to send to new delhi and get it back for u
then if someone is coming to australia then send it in person with them to australia
