How do I get started on all this?

My boyfriend and I have been together for about 2 years now, I'm a US Citizen and he is Canadian.  I have wanted to move up with him for a while now, and have been trying to do research about how I would be able too.  Recently he proposed to me, so we are now trying to decide how and when we can get married and how we will be able to get me up there with him.  We do not have a date set, and we are not in a rush as we are working on saving up money for the wedding and we know that getting a visa and all the applications will cost a lot.  Where do we start though?
