Hello all,

I'm curious to know how you and your significant other met? I'll start!

I met my husband online playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on PlayStation 3. I thought he was an absolute jerk when we first met and look at us now! Madly in love, finally married and now awaiting immigration.
It felt a little silly to put that down in our application and it was interesting how to explain it Smiley

So let's hear it! How'd you meet???

If this needs to be moved to another thread, please let me know!

Cheers Smiley

Nov 2006, a couple of friends and I when to Mexico on vacation.  One night our waiter asked us if we wanted to go out dancing that night, we thought, why not there was three of us.  My dance partner is now my husband.

I met my spouse online, in a friendly yahoo chatroom. We talked for a while in 2009 then met and were married almost a year after meeting online, after our first in person meeting. He romanced me with song everyday.

I met my spouse online in 2005, and we met in person in 2009....4 years online!! i know it's crazy but we talked almost everyday and he was the person i was closet to and still is. We met in a chatroom and that was it we never stopped talking. I love him so much and now we have a baby, home, and we are hoping to be done with this whole immigration process soon. God willing.

If that's crazy, then we are too  Smiley. Met online in a chat room fall 2001, and had an online-only relationship from then until summer 2006 (when we met in person). So, it was almost 5 years before we physically met, but by then we knew a ridiculous amount about each other, talked to each other a couple times a day for years, knew each other's RL friends, some family, etc.

A few days after my high school graduation in May 2008 I received an email asking if I was one of my friend's friend. I clicked the box that said yes and it brought me to a site he was on. After looking around a bit, I signed up for the site called MyYearbook.com. In the first night I found a feature called "Match" (no I wasn't looking for a match just wanted to look at cuties lol). In this feature it pops up a picture of someone and asks if you want to secretly admire them then click "yes" or "no". Well I was doing this for a while and I had nothing better to do but no body cute popped up so I just started clicking "no" on everyone that popped up just cause I figured none were going to be cute. Suddenly though I got almost like a shock over me saying STOP you did something wrong.

In the right hand side there was a selection that shows the people you chose answers for. At the top of the most recent was my now husband whom I had clicked no to. It was a tiny picture so I clicked to bring up his picture again. I looked at his picture for a good minute and clicked "yes". Thank goodness I went back and corrected my answer. I can't believe I accidentally clicked no on my now husband. My life would have been horrible without him. Anyway, after I clicked yes, hubby got a notification saying he had a new secret admirer and to guess from 12 pictures of people who it could have been. According to him, he was drawn to my picture and knew it was me so he chose me first. He then messaged me and we messaged there for a while. Then we exchanged screennames, then went on webcam, then started talking on the phone (one night being 12 hours). Then in Nov 2008 he came to visit me in the US where we met for the first time then traveled back to his home in Canada in March 09. We have been living together since the first day we met and I hope it never ends.

Sorry for the rambling but I can never seem to tell how we met without a couple of paragraphs. I even told myself I wouldn't try to post a long message. So much for that. Lol.

i met my wife online too!!
seems to be the in thing heh
i was on a womens friends/dating site and sent her a smile
she didn't have a photo up, but she had a volkswagen hippie wagon
so that's what piqued my interest
i was certainly not looking for love
was thinking that when i eventually fulfill my travel ambition to travel across north america in a vdub
she might be someone i could pop in and meet on my travels

we connected immediately
and both knew something big was happening
it was far from ideal
we've both been in LDR'S before so knew the pain of that
but love conquers all!!

i flew over in nov last year and from the moment we hugged at the airport
we knew that we'd found the *one*
*sigh*

went over again last month, with my children in tow
and we got married...and spent 3 wonderful weeks together

my wife is coming for a visit next month
by which time we're hoping we'll have our spousal application ready to go!!

YES online as well!

We actually met over facebook when my bf added me.  He was a friend of a friend of mine and extremely well built & cute so I added him.  He was new to Toronto and didn't reallly know anyone.  I'm sure he added plenty of girls Smiley  We talked for 2 months before we decided to meet in person.  We finally decided on some wine and a movie, the rest is history.  Moved in together 7 months later and now engaged, building our buisness and loving life!

I met my special one in college. I came to Canada as an exchange student, and my SO was friends with a guy I was going out with. My relationship with his friend didn't work out, but we remained friends. He later confessed that he had always liked me, but he couldn't act on it because I was dating his friend. I told him I had a secret crush on him as well! Long story short, we started dating a few months later, much to his friend's dismay.  Tongue

We went to the same school but in different periods. He heard a lot about me from common friends, professors, classmates and I did heard about him too from some friends of mine too. He added me on Facebook and I did accept immediately. After checking his profile and seeing his pics I knew he is the One! I sent him a message, he replied back. we did chat on FB, then on Gmail, then Skype (daily till today). We met in person after few months, spent a week together and the got married after two months of our first in person meet.

Online seems to be the theme. I met my Canadian husband playing World of Warcraft. We were in the same guild for several years before we met face to face. He started out as a casual friend but over time we got to be very close. When I had some rough times he was there for me, and we started emailing each other every day. Eventually he and a friend did a road trip to see America and meet some of the guild members they spoke with on a daily basis. I was one of those people. Shortly after that we decided to admit we both felt something more and started an LDR. One of us flew to the other once a month for a weekend visit for just over a year and a half. It was always fun to explain at the border when they asked how we met. Today is the six month anniversary of our marriage. Amazing how things work out huh?

Met online...lol (cut and dried version...sort of  Grin )

He sent me a message on a social site. I took one look at his profile and thought "Why the heck is he talking to me??" (He's really cute)...lol

He also said he was just looking for friends and at the time that suited me just fine after 8 years single and not really interested in a relationship. We emailed a bit and then started chatting on msn. Next thing I knew I was flying to Morocco...everyone thought I was nuts including me but I also just looked at it as an adventure. I was convinced that once we met he would not be interested anyway...little did I know he already knew I was "the one"  Tongue

15 months after that trip and talking daily online or by phone I went once again to Morocco and we got married...now I have my best friend, my confidant, my biggest supporter and I am so very blessed. I really hope immigration will sense that through our application...
