Some of the forum members have just received their Medical Request (including me), who did not pay their RPRF before, are willing to pay it now to save some time. I want to highlight (in blue text) the words re: RPRF from Buffalo website and the PR App Guide:

Paying Fees in Buffalo
"The Right of Permanent Residence Fee in these classes may be paid at the time of application or at any time during processing."

Application for Permanent Residence - Guide for Provincial Nominees (IMM EP7000)
Right of Permanent Residence Fee:
   • $490 per person for you (the principal applicant) and your spouse or common-law partner (if applicable). Dependent children are exempt.
   • You will need to pay this fee before your application for permanent residence can be finalized. We will send you a request to pay this fee when we are ready to issue the permanent resident visa.

Now, is it okay to pay the RPRF before it's requested? If it is, then how can we pay? Does it really make a difference re: saving time?

I hope the seniors can help us on this matter.

RPRF can be only paid online, if you are applying from within Canada and applying to an office within Canada. Just like you do for a work permit in Vegreville, but for Buffalo you can not do that.

Since we (most of us I believe) applied to Buffalo, "paying online" isn't gonna help us. So, I go back to my original TOPIC.

As Buffalo says that it's payable during anytime of processing, when can we pay it and how?

Does that happens something  like fast tracking?  Also do you know many months it takes for ppr nowadays?

Sinpguy,

That's very informative. But is that a PPR for PNP applicant? If I can pay my RPRF at time of crossing border to get the VISA, I'm cool with that. But again, I'm not comfortable with the idea of gathering all passports (for other family members living outside Canada).

Seems like once I receive PPR, my wife has to send her passport over here and I can cross border to get VISA for both our passports. Then I've to send her passport back. And when she finally flies to Canada, she can officially land here and go through the procedure.

Does that happens something  like fast tracking?  Also do you know many months it takes for ppr nowadays?
It used to be 7 months for MEDICAL and 5~6 months for PPR; but I guess it's getting faster now. As our AOR's getting 6 months, PPR may take 3~4 months (as it takes for CEC).

Hello Rossie,

This is from a PNP applicant YUVRAJ in this forum. He recieved his ppr on May 4/2011. I just copied and paste it, so that we can discuss if we are going to pay based on this...
This ppr is for somebody applied as a single .Regarding the spouse I dont know, how its gonna work?
Now we still have to figure out...
1. How do we pay rprf like with covering letter and send to which adddress? How about sending the draft to fort erie with our barcode on it?
2. How the ppr for spouse is going to work? Do we have to gather her passport and sent to Buffalo or whether the spouse (living outside canada) can go to her embassy(eg: india) and stamp visa right away..

Anybody have any info on this matter?
