Hey!

Im expecting my visa in a couple of days now and so im preparing myself.
Im looking for hotels near George brwn college.. ( 1st jan to 7th jan) ..after which ill choose some hostel/accomodation.

I checked alot of hotels on the net ..the affordable ones seem to have a mixed review ( more negative actually )
My budget for a week is BHD 200/- which is almost CAD 550..

Im not expecting ritz but i want a decent reasonable place.

Please suggest if you have experienced staying in any hotel ..not from reviews you have read cos ive already read them..

Hi,

As an alternative I suggest you can also go for short term vacation rentals, if you are unable to find a good deals amongst hotels. The advertisements for them are given on websites like craigslist.ca, kijiji.ca etc. The cost will vary according to the location and space in the rental property but again I can't say anything about how the place is going to be but you can always contact the person renting the property for picture of the rooms, surroundings etc.

Check out this link:

Hope this is helpful. Best of luck with the VISA.

Friends of mine once stayed at the following hostel and had a very good experience:

http://theplanettraveler.com/

This hostel has both private and shared rooms. I believe it's located in the College / Spadina area which is not right beside George Brown but easily accessed by public transit (taking two streetcars).

Stay away from the hostel at Spadina and King (Global Travelers?). It's dirty and gross.

I think you are going to have a great deal of difficulty finding a downtown hotel (or B&B) for $550 a week that isn't disgusting. George Brown is located downtown and a "cheap" hotel room in downtown Toronto (at a non-disgusting hotel) probably starts at around $120 a night.
