I read somewhere that the rejection rate for Spousal Residency Visas is very high.  Anyone have any actual experience with speed of processing and decisions?

While I read happy posts by others who also submitted applications for permanent residency in November, I just learned that our application is sitting in the Hong Kong office "pending review by officer". In other words, they haven't started processing it yet.

I can only hope that when they do open the file, they don't take the average 8-11 months to process it. Otherwise, they'll soon be raising the fee to cover rising storage costs!!   Tongue

I have a relative in hongkong who is working as a live-in caregiver to an elderly. My questions are:

1. How many months is required to have at least stayed in hongkong before applying for a live-in caregiver in canada?

2. If the work experience in hongkong is with an elderly, should the job offer from canada be for an elderly too or it could also be for child/children?

3. How long does it normally process an application from hongkong to canada?

Any input is appreciated.
