Hi Everyone,

My sister has applied for sponsorship for her husband.

The file was transferred to Islamabad in March 2010.

Husband has been asked again for PCC in Jan 2010. Which he did sent at the end of Jan 2010.

Now her husband has been asked again for PCC in April 2010!!! Thats the PCC request for 3rd time.

Now, given these circumstances, has anyone had any experience with hiring a lawyer? Your input is greatly appreciated.

She is seriously considering to hire a lawyer to make sure people at the CHC in Islamabad give straight answers!

Thank you.

If you hear something from CHC Islamabad, its better than not hearing form them at all. This means that your sister's husband case is in the works and being reviewed. They might have asked for the PCC to make sure that your sister's husband wasn't involved in any criminal activity since the last PCC. Hiring a lawyer would be costly and not too helpful to her because the lawyer can't really do anything beside sending emails to Islamabad Embassy. So just ask your sister to be a little more patient which i know is easier said than done. Right now, they are working on the first & second quarter of 2010 applications. She can also order CAIPS notes to find out more details about her husbands case.

i agree that she doesn't need a lawyer now. The lawyer can help prepare the application, but they have already sent theirs in, so it is too late. She should just wait and see what happens. If they are rejected and they decide to appeal, she can get a lawyer.
