Does any friend know what are the documents needed to send for Hindu Marriage? I mean:

1) Only certificate from temple?
or

2) Only court marriage certificate?

3) Both?

why you want to send temple certificate?? i hope it will be in HIndi.
Just send the notorised copy of your marriage registration certificate issued by marriage registrar.
My learning from all the visas i applied in past is certificate issued by govt bodies only work outside india.

Ya, I know, this is the only acceptable doc... I am from Bangladesh, here court marriage (registrar) is not popular or encouraged by the govt, especially for hindu community. That's why I was thinking so. If anybody from BD sent previously and did not face any cumbersome situation, I may think for only doc.

Thank you very much for your suggestion.

Send only one marriage certificate(which you have received from marriage registrar-A government authorized one & with the notary..
more than one certificate may create conflicts..

Hi Deba!
We are not from BD but had Hindu marriage (even I am not Indian and even not Hindu). So we got temple certificate and then applied for registration of our marriage into Governmental office. Believe me it was a nightmare, coz my husband is from small city and they never so any foreigner married to India before, they just do not know what to do with our papers ;-). They ask us to wait for 3 months  Huh Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked, where in My country you can get it in the same day of marriage. So in other hand we had a timeless for our main file, as it is suppose to be submitted within 120 days!!! What we did we when to notarial person and ask him to translate out Marriage Certificate in English and stamp it, along with that my husband wrote an explanation note to VO. So far no problem no request for additional documents!!! and yes forgot to mentioned in our MC we requested to write our names in English alphabets, so at least I can understand to whom did I get married  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

If you married in India and looking for marriage certificate from India! than remember in Indian marriage certificate by default is english now and on the same marriage certificate you have to mentioned name and address of priest even signature of prist at first time registration in India. Marriage abroad (outside india) I dont know than contact nearest indian consulate or embassy.

I don't know more for Bangladesh , yes I know that in italy some people from Sariatpur near dhaka they follow nikah nama but they all khan surname people not hindu.
you can follow this instructions I found:
http://photos.state.gov/libraries/bangladesh/19452/pdfs/INSTRUCTIONS_FOR_MARRIAGE_CERTIFICATES.pdf
Read this part : Certification from a Priest/Church/Temple: A marriage certificate that was issued by the
priest who solemnized the marriage or the administration of the Church/Temple where the
marriage was solemnized. The format for these documents may vary but all will contain the same
information regarding the concerned parties, the wedding ceremony and the information
concerning the identity of the priest who registered the marriage.

Hope this will help you.
