HI hifa,

I am having trouble with RPRF. Can you please tell me from which bank should I get the  bank draft in Canadian dollars? I'm in Karachi. People have advised me to go to dollar east or western union. How did you submit the fees?

Hello Coolangy,

Banks in Pakistan usually dont make DDs in FCY unless u have maintained a FC account with them. Their main excuse  is that State Bank does not permit them to make FCY DD without FC account but reality is different, State Bank allows banks in Pakistan to make FCY DDs if they have a valid reason with supporting document mentioning amount and purpose of remittance of remittance. In case of FCY account u dont need a reason/purpose of remittance or any supporting document. My advice for u is that if u have a FCY account in any bank go to ur branch and request them to make a FCY DD for u otherwise dont waste ur time in banks and go to any trusted exchange company (Dollar East etc) and order for ur RPRF DD in CAD. Their DDS r equally valid and acceptable.
Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot! Smiley I've asked a friend of mine who lives in Canada to arrange the draft and mail it to me. Do you think it's a good idea?
Also just wanted to confirm that the fee is only given for principal applicant and spouse.  Children less than 22 are excluded. Right?

Thanks again!
And best of luck for your journey to Canada.

There is no harm to make DD from Canada but there is no difference whether the DD is issued from Pakistan or Canada except the time involved. RPRF is only payable by principal applicant and his/her spouse.

Hifa I called Dollar East and they said that they don't use a Canadian bank to make the draft. Is that ok? Did you go for Dollar East too?Plz tell.
