Yeah, the Case Processing Pilot - Ottawa office is rolling out in two phases, a "file creation" phase from April to September 2011 and a "full processing of cases" phase from September 2011 to April 2012. I know that CPP-O is responsible for resuming the processing of family class PR applications following the Immigration Appeal Division's (IAD's) decision to allow an appeal from a sponsor. I don't know if there's any other reason circumstance under which they would be forwarded a file. Is your application being continued because you recently won an appeal at the IAD?

I believe I read somewhere that Ottawa also processes applications from countries where war, etc. is ongoing (including Cairo)

So I take they should be sending the Damascus ones over there since Syria's in worse shape than Egypt........but that's a whole 'nother topic.

Well you didn't answer my question about whether it was a successful appeal so I'm going to just assume that it's an original application that hasn't been decided on yet.

Anyway......from what I've read, in addition to helping with the successful appeals of previously-refused cases, CPP-Ottawa is also around to just help expedite processing at certain VOs. So if Cairo forwarded your file to Ottawa you can assume they did so to make the processing of it more expeditious.

You can order GCMS notes to see what the progress looks like on your file. Otherwise, just stay patient.

Oh the Tripoli office hasn't been operating since February (I think Damascus is not responsible for those files).
