i want to know how much time i can spend outside canada
i am PR of canada
and know i m in INDIA, Please tell me how much time i can spend continuosly here
i have  PR card valid for next 2 years
is there any rule that i have to come back to canada within 6 months
to retain immigrant status

You must reside in Canada for 2 years in every 5 year period.

Not quite.  It depends on how long you have been outside Canada, it is rolling 5 year period.  Say you landed 01/01/02, you left Canada 01/01/03, (1 yr) returned to Canada 01/01/05, (2 yr)  so between 01/01/05 and 01/01/08 you would have to remain for 2 years.

You have to work it out as to when you "landed" when you left, when you return and how much time you spent in Canada in each 5 year period.

The 6 months was the previous Immigration Act, prior to 2002.  Now you have to reside in Canada for 2 years in every 5 year period.
