 Smiley
Hello everyone, I'm sponsoring my husband, who is from Berlin, Germany. The process began on June 28.2010, we just received a letter today from CIC Vegreville, AB advising us that the processing of our application has been completed and that we will be contacted by CIC Monteal concerning my husbands permanent resident status. YEAHHH!!!  Grin
So, we guess there won't be any interview, or am I mistaken??
How long does it take to get the permanent res.card??

Hi, could you tell what your local office is? Have you applied in Quebec?
It depends on your local office when they will give your husband a landing appointment, usually they contact you by mail between 2-6 weeks from the time you were approved.
You will not have an `interview`, it is a formality when you and your husband have to sign the landing papers, they will go through your information to make sure everything is correct and take your husband`s photo for the PR card. You have to get the photos done before you got to the appointment and in the letter with the date you will get a photo specification sheet, as the PR card photo has different measurements than the other PR pictures.
From the time of the landing it takes 8-9 weeks to get the PR card in the mail if there are no problems.
Congratulations to you and your husband!

Thank you ditta, I see we applied about the same date as you did and you are already landed ...nice!
Our local CIC office is in Montreal and I hope they work quickly. Another question you might perhaps answer: as a spouse who sponsors I will be responsible for all the essential and financial needs my husband has. OK, what about these full time french courses that are offered for free. Are they really free??

Good question, since I`m not in Quebec, but Alberta, I am not sure. Perhaps others in the Inland 2010 thread can help you with this, who applied in Quebec as well. I assume they should be free and remember that someone mentioned these courses before...You may want to join us in the Inlanders thread and you will get an answer in no time.
