i have a mild version of hepatitis c for the last 20 years (i've received it through a blood transfusion when i was 10 due to a road accident). My liver functions are completely normal (AST, ALT, etc.) and my doctor advised me not to undergo any treatment since it is very mild and stable. I'm marrying a my girlfriend, who is a canadian citizen, and applying for citizenship. What problems might i have because of hepatitis c? your answer will be greatly appriciated.

best regards,

Dan

Probably none. Since it is not a contagious illness and you can actually perform you work, there will be no problem. What they look for is some sort of illness that can actually be passed on to someone else or put a burden in their health care system. Since it is mild and you have been fine, they will deny you application based on that.
