Hi,
I have just received medical papers from Canadian Immigration authority. Before proceeding towards medical I just wanted to know whether Hepatitis B can cause refusal of entry; my wife is a carrier of Hepatitis B.
With kind regards. sabuj

Thanks for your comments. Actually I wanted somebody to let me know whether it can cause refusal. I have got differenet opinion on the issue - some say yes and some say no. I think I should not ask the doctor.

Hi Sabuj
you will be asked for it specifically as well for other deceases, the doctor asks for hepatitis A or B history, and also the blood test will tell the doctor about it, so please do not omit this comment to the doctor, he/she will know it anyway.
We took the medicals last month, there were a several question about me and each member of my family, there's no way to skip it.
So my friend I wish you pass it.
Note: they put much more attention on the X-ray
Regards and hope to see you in Canada very soon Eduardo

Here is what the DMP Handbook states: Question 8: HEPATITIS When there is a history of hepatitis, the details from the applicant should include the date and type of hepatitis. Note: If the applicant is NOT excessive demand exempt, then the results of serum AST and ALT should be provided. If these are abnormal, then a specialist's report including hepatitis C antibodies and hepatitis B surface antigen should be provided. So if it is not a spousal/dep child sponsorship, the results be evaluated to determine if there will be "excessive demand" on medical services for the continuing and future treatment. PMM

You should not develop your own opinion and confuse yourself and just go for the medical. Probably you will not face any problem in this regard. Wish you a success

I didn't have any problems passing medical exam. I am getting my visa to Canada this week! My advise to you is to bring as many tests results as you can, so the doctor would see the whole picture!!! I am a chronical Hep.B carrier. When I came for medical exam I brought all the blood test results, ultrasound of liver and doctor's final diagnoses - chronical carrier if Hep.B virus. (it's in my blood, even though I am not sick.) But everything is in the hands of God!!!!!!!!
